School and Family Support Services (SFSS)
The School and Family Support Services (SFSS) is a department within the Division of Special Education that works to support the District in maintaining substantial compliance with federal education laws by ensuring that policies, procedures, and practices are followed. This includes the proper implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and providing families, staff, and students with access to resources that promote equitable opportunities for students with disabilities.

The purpose of the SFSS is to collaborate with various offices and staff across the Division, District-operated schools, independent charter schools, non-public schools, and public agencies. Through the Division’s Call Center, SFSS assists families, community members, and staff with inquiries, concerns, and complaints related to special education.

Our mission is to ensure all partners receive accurate information, resources, guidance, and ongoing support in special education—fostering student well-being and preparing every student for success.
