School Psychology Internship Experiences
School Psychology Internship Experiences
LAUSD offers both paid and unpaid School Psychology Internship experiences. Both paid and unpaid internship experiences are provided high-quality supervision that meets NASP, CASP, and University/Institutes of Higher Education (IHE) requirements, including support for case conceptualization and report development, participation in IEP meetings, and specialized orientation and professional development opportunities. Unpaid interns will be assigned to sites where there is a school psychologist who will serve as the designated site support provider.
Paid internship opportunities follow a comprehensive employment selection process and offer interns the salary and health benefits equivalent to a first-year school psychologist. Paid interns must demonstrate the competencies, as well as an exceptional knowledgebase, skill set and overall disposition to be independent at a school site. Paid interns are expected to satisfy both the internship requirements as well as the full scope of employment duties and functions as a credentialed school psychologist.
Internship placements follow the LAUSD Instructional Calendar and typically require a five day per week commitment.
